To extend the life expectancy of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs. Surgical Services: Our technologically advanced surgical suite allows us to perform a wide variety of surgical procedures. We also offer laser surgery that yields many benefits for your pet, including reduced recovery time. Anaesthesia: We utilize the safest available anaesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using technologically advanced and proven equipment and qualified team members, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anaesthetic procedures. Radiology Services: Two radiology machines that have DIGITAL advantage are on-site. Brack Animal Hospital acquired the first digital fixed X-ray system, as well as the first digital intra-oral (dental) system for veterinary use within Essex County. Digital radiology boasts superior image quality with fast image production (4 seconds for the fixed system). Digital radiology is also GREEN technology, eliminating the use of caustic developing and fixing chemicals used to process film. Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site. Dentistry: Our dental services include INTRA-ORAL DIGITAL dental X-rays to assist in the optimal diagnosis of periodontal and endodontic diseases. Our veterinarian(s) perform intra-oral assessments and oral surgery, while our trained veterinary technicians (a team of 2) perform anaesthetic monitoring, cleaning/polishing of teeth and floride treatment. The use of circulating warm water and/or warm air blankets (electric heating pads can burn the patient and are not used) aid in maintaining body temperature during dental anaesthesia. All dental anaesthesia includes mandatory intravenous fluids (IV) with electronic IV pumps, the use of electronic equipment that monitors blood pressure, Sp02 (amount of oxygen being carried by your blood at the site of the monitor probe), heart rate and rhythm (EKG), respiratory rate, and body temperature. Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations. Permanent Identification: We offer tattooing and microchip identification. Pharmacy/Retail: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of maintenance and prescription diets.
